- Versatile Plastic-to-Wood Bonding
Product Description
3M Hot Melt Adhesive 3747 PG is a tan, 100% solids thermoplastic hot-melt adhesive in PG stick format for fast industrial assembly with a compatible handheld applicator. Once heated, the adhesive liquefies, wets the bonding surface, and fills gaps before cooling to a strong, tough, flexible bond within seconds. A 50-second open time supports placement and positioning, while moderate heat resistance extends service to 145 deg F (63 deg C). The adhesive bonds many plastics, wood, lightweight metals, fabric, glass, and vinyl for assembly, attachment, repair, panel bonding, wire tacking, bundling, sealing, packaging, and foam-bonding operations. As a thermoplastic, the cured bond can remelt at sufficiently high temperature.
Key features
- Fast cooling-set behavior: The molten adhesive hardens and develops bond strength within seconds after cooling.
- Defined positioning window: A 50-second open time supports placement before the hot melt sets.
- Moderate heat resistance: The cooled bond is rated to 145 deg F (63 deg C).
Applications
Suitable for industrial assembly, attachment, repair, panel bonding, wire tacking, bundling, sealing, packaging, foam bonding, and bonding many plastics, wood, lightweight metals, fabric, glass, and vinyl.
