- Semi-Flexible 68 Shore D
Product Description
3M Scotchcast Electrical Resin 8N is a two-part, unfilled liquid epoxy resin system for electrical and electronic coating, filling, insulation, and encapsulation. The semi-flexible material is designed for room-temperature cure, with a 30-minute gel time at 60 deg C. After cure, the resin has 68 Shore D hardness, a Class B temperature rating of 130 deg C, and 75% elongation. Its low-viscosity liquid form supports filling and encapsulation around complex electrical and electronic assemblies.
Key features
- Low-viscosity unfilled epoxy: The liquid, unfilled epoxy form supports coating, filling, patching, and encapsulation around electrical components.
- Room-temperature cure capability: The resin has a low gel point for room-temperature cure, with a 30-minute gel time at 60 deg C.
- Semi-flexible cured properties: The cured resin combines 68 Shore D hardness with reported 75% elongation for electrical insulation and encapsulation use.
Applications
Applications include coating, filling, patching, insulating, and encapsulating coils, transformers, motors, modules, and electrical or electronic components.
