Main features

  • High-Solvency Aerospace Soil Removal
  • Manual-Wipe or Immersion Cleaning
  • AMS 3167 Aerospace Conformance

Product Description

BIOACT 105 is a high-purity, fast-drying solvent cleaner for manual degreasing, damp-dry surface preparation, and room-temperature immersion cleaning. Its citrus-terpene, alcohol, and hydrocarbon blend combines a Kauri-Butanol value above 150 with low surface residue and a vapor pressure of 1.5 mmHg at 20°C. The cleaner removes adhesives, greases, corrosion inhibitors, paint overspray, silicones, waxes, and other industrial soils. It is compatible with many polymeric substrates and elastomers and can be used on ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. BIOACT 105 also conforms to AMS 3167 and is documented for multiple aerospace OEM cleaning processes.

Application

Application and Processing

Choose the cleaning method based on the substrate, soil, and downstream process. Confirm compatibility under actual use conditions before broad implementation.

Concentration: Use full strength for manual cleaning, damp-dry surface preparation, and immersion cleaning.
Manual application: Apply to the substrate with a brush, pad, or cloth.
Immersion: Add full-strength cleaner to the wash-tank reservoir; do not use heat or ultrasonics.

Application Sequence

Stage 1
Confirm substrate and cleaning task
Identify the substrate, contamination, and downstream bonding, sealing, coating, or painting requirements. Verify compatibility under actual use conditions.
Stage 2
Apply at full concentration
For manual cleaning, use a brush, pad, or cloth. For immersion cleaning, charge the wash tank with BIOACT 105 at full strength.
Stage 3
Complete the selected method
For damp-dry surface preparation, wipe the wetted surface with a clean, dry, low-lint towel before the solvent evaporates. For immersion cleaning, do not add heat or ultrasonics.
Storage and Handling

Store BIOACT 105 in its original, sealed container above 50°F (10°C). The documented shelf life is 36 months under these conditions. Keep the container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated storage area and consult the current SDS for complete safe-handling, fire-prevention, and disposal requirements.

Technical Guidance

Documented soils
Suitable cleaning targets include adhesives, inks, asphaltic residues, mold-release compounds, buffing and polishing compounds, corrosion inhibitors, coolants, fingerprints, greases, hydraulic fluids, paint overspray, particulate matter, sealants, silicones, tars, and waxes.
Substrate compatibility
The cleaner is documented for many polymeric substrates and elastomers and for ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. Validate the exact material, surface finish, exposure time, and downstream process under production conditions.

Supported use contexts

Applications

BIOACT 105 supports full-strength manual and immersion cleaning where strong solvency, low surface residue, and controlled application are required.

Manual cleaning and degreasing
Apply full-strength cleaner by brush, pad, or cloth to remove oils, greases, adhesive residue, corrosion inhibitors, paint overspray, and other documented soils.
Damp-dry surface preparation
Use before bonding, sealing, coating, or painting. Wet the substrate with BIOACT 105, then wipe with a clean, dry, low-lint towel before the solvent evaporates.
Room-temperature immersion cleaning
Charge an immersion or soak tank with full-strength cleaner for batch component cleaning. The documented process does not recommend heat or ultrasonics.
