Product Description

BIOACT 108 is a highly refined, fast-drying solvent cleaner developed for aerospace cleaning, corrosion-inhibiting compound removal, and general industrial degreasing. It is used at full concentration for manual application by brush, pad, or cloth and for immersion cleaning, with ultrasonic agitation permitted when appropriate safety controls are in place. BIOACT 67.5removes corrosion-inhibiting compounds, hydraulic fluids, adhesives, greases, paint overspray, sealants, silicones, waxes, and other documented soils. The cleaner provides low surface residue, is compatible with many polymeric substrates and elastomers, and can be used with ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. It is documented for multiple aerospace cleaning specifications and processes.

Key features

  • CIC-removal capability: Designed to remove corrosion-inhibiting compounds and other difficult aerospace soils.

Application

Application and Processing

Use BIOACT 108 at full concentration. Select the manual or immersion method according to the substrate, soil, component geometry, cleaning equipment, and applicable aerospace process requirement.

Concentration: Use full strength for both manual and immersion cleaning.
Manual cleaning: Apply to the substrate by brush, pad, or cloth.
Immersion cleaning: Add to the wash-tank reservoir at full concentration. Ultrasonic agitation may be used with proper safety controls.

Cleaning Sequence

Stage 1
Confirm the substrate and soil
Identify the substrate, surface finish, corrosion-inhibiting compound or other soil, cleaning specification, and downstream inspection or assembly requirement.
Stage 2
Apply at full concentration
For manual cleaning, apply with a brush, pad, or cloth. For immersion cleaning, charge the cleaning equipment reservoir with full-strength BIOACT 108.
Stage 3
Control the cleaning process
Use equipment, ventilation, fire-prevention, and ultrasonic controls appropriate for a flammable solvent. Verify cleanliness and substrate compatibility under the actual production or maintenance process.
Storage and Handling

Store BIOACT 108 in its original, sealed container above 50°F (10°C). The documented shelf life is 36 months under these conditions. Available standard packages include 36 lb (16 kg) pails and 395 lb (180 kg) drums. Keep containers closed in a cool, well-ventilated area and consult the current SDS for complete safe-handling, fire-prevention, exposure-control, and disposal requirements.
