Main features

  • 99% USDA-Certified Biobased Cleaner
  • Broad Electronics Residue Removal
  • Water-Rinsable Ambient Processing

Product Description

BIOACT EC-7R is a USDA Certified Biobased Product (99%) and high-performance electronics cleaner for semi-aqueous spray and immersion defluxing. The citrus-terpene-based cleaner is water rinsable and separates from water in the rinse section, supporting solvent recovery and recycling. Used at full concentration and ambient temperature, BIOACT EC-7R removes lead-free, no-clean, RMA, and HMP flux residues, fingerprint oils, ionic contamination, and uncured SMD adhesives. It provides a Kauri-Butanol value of 95, low viscosity, high soil loading, and compatibility with commercially available immersion and spray-under-immersion cleaning equipment.

Key features

  • USDA Certified Biobased Product: Certified biobased content of 99%.
  • Broad defluxing performance: Removes lead-free, no-clean, RMA, and HMP flux residues.
  • Ionic and process-soil removal: Removes ionic contamination, fingerprint oils, and uncured SMD adhesives.
  • Ambient full-strength processing: Used without dilution for manual and immersion cleaning; heat is not recommended.
  • Water rinsing and solvent separation: Separates from rinse water to support solvent recovery and recycling.
  • High solvency and low viscosity: Kauri-Butanol value of 95 and viscosity of 0.8 cP.

Application

Cleaning and Rinse Process

Use BIOACT EC-7R at full concentration and ambient temperature. Select manual, immersion, or spray-under-immersion equipment according to the assembly, flux type, soil loading, and required rinsing and cleanliness controls.

Concentration: Use at full concentration for manual and immersion cleaning.
Temperature: Use at ambient temperature; heating the immersion wash bath is not recommended.
Equipment: Suitable for manual application, immersion equipment, and spray-under-immersion systems.

Defluxing Sequence

Stage 1
Apply the cleaner
Apply BIOACT EC-7R at full concentration by brush, pad, or cloth, or charge the immersion cleaning reservoir with full-strength product.
Stage 2
Remove flux and process soils
Process at ambient temperature to remove supported lead-free, no-clean, RMA, and HMP flux residues, fingerprint oils, ionic contamination, and uncured SMD adhesives.
Stage 3
Water rinse and separate
Rinse the cleaned assembly with water. BIOACT EC-7R separates from water in the rinse section, supporting solvent recovery and recycling within a controlled process.
Storage and Handling

Store BIOACT EC-7R in its original, sealed container above 50°F (10°C). The documented shelf life is 36 months under these conditions. Standard packages include 35 lb (16 kg) pails and 390 lb (177 kg) drums. Keep containers tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated area away from heat, sparks, flames, and incompatible strong acids or oxidizing agents. Use appropriate ventilation and personal protective equipment and consult the current SDS for complete handling, storage, transport, and disposal requirements.

Defluxing and Cleaning Guidance

Supported flux and process soils
BIOACT EC-7R removes lead-free, no-clean, RMA, and HMP flux residues, fingerprint oils, ionic contamination, and uncured SMD adhesives. Confirm the actual flux chemistry, cure condition, assembly materials, and cleanliness endpoint under production conditions.
Water rinsing, soil loading, and recovery
The cleaner is water rinsable, supports high soil loading, and separates from water in the rinse section. Establish bath control, rinse-water management, phase separation, solvent recovery, and disposal practices for the specific cleaning system.
Supported use contexts

Applications

BIOACT EC-7R supports semi-aqueous electronics cleaning where flux residues, ionic contamination, fingerprint oils, or uncured SMD adhesives must be removed from compatible assemblies using ambient manual or equipment-based processes.

Immersion defluxing
Use full-strength product at ambient temperature in commercially available immersion equipment for supported lead-free, no-clean, RMA, and HMP flux residues.
Spray-under-immersion cleaning
Use in compatible spray-under-immersion equipment for semi-aqueous defluxing, followed by controlled water rinsing and solvent separation.
Manual electronics cleaning
Apply full-strength cleaner by brush, pad, or cloth for localized removal of flux residues, fingerprint oils, ionic contamination, and uncured SMD adhesive.
