Product Description
CONAPOXY RN-1200 Epoxy Resin is an undiluted, unfilled epoxy resin component for electrical and electronic potting and casting systems. Its 10,000 cP viscosity at 25 deg C supports processing where a relatively fluid resin is needed. The resin is used with a separately selected CONACURE hardener, allowing the complete system to be matched to working-life, flexibility and cure requirements. Because the hardener determines the mix ratio, cure schedule and final properties, RN-1200 should be evaluated as the resin component rather than as a complete cured system.

POTTING & ENCAPSULATION
CONAPOXY® RN-1200 two-component epoxy potting system
CONAPOXY® RN-1200 is an unfilled, two-component epoxy potting system for potting and encapsulation of electrical and electronic devices such as modules, transformers and coils. The RN-1200 Resin is combined with a selected CONACURE® hardener to provide different processing windows and cured-property profiles.
KEY CHARACTERISTICS
Electrical insulation with configurable processing and cured properties
Selecting the hardener changes the RN-1200 system's processing window and final material properties while retaining the same RN-1200 epoxy resin base.
Low exotherm and shrinkage
The unfilled epoxy system is formulated for low exotherm and low shrinkage during potting and casting.
Thermal shock resistance
RN-1200 systems provide thermal shock resistance, with the EA-028 system specifically identified for very good thermal shock resistance.
Electrical insulation
The cured systems provide good electrical properties with very good arc resistance and typical dielectric strength of 350 V/mil.
Flexible curative selection
EA-02, EA-028 and EA-87 provide different pot-life, viscosity, flexibility and cure characteristics for process selection.

Select the CONACURE® hardener for the required process window
RN-1200 Resin can be combined with EA-02, EA-028 or EA-87 Hardener. Each pairing remains a distinct two-component formulation with its own mix ratio and processing characteristics.

PROCESSING
Mixing, viscosity adjustment and degassing
- Select EA-02, EA-028 or EA-87 Hardener for the intended RN-1200 formulation.
- Mix RN-1200 Resin and the selected hardener at the specified weight or volume ratio until homogeneous.
- Components may be preheated up to 60°C when reduced viscosity is required.
- For hand mixing, degas the mixed material at greater than 27 in. Hg vacuum before use.
Recommended cure schedule
Room-temperature cure: 24 hours at 25°C / 77°F
Heat cure: 2 hours at 60°C / 140°F
Cure time begins after the unit reaches the specified temperature. Cure schedules are recommendations, and optimum conditions should be established for the specific application.

STORAGE & HANDLING
Protect components from heat, sunlight and atmospheric moisture
Store at or below 25°C / 77°F in a dry, controlled environment out of direct sunlight.
Under these conditions, material in the original sealed containers should be suitable for use for twelve months from the date of shipment.
Moisture-sensitive handling
The product is sensitive to moisture and atmospheric humidity. Once opened, containers should be used immediately or blanketed with dry air or nitrogen before resealing.
Mix and degas individual components thoroughly before use.
