Main features
- 100:3.2 Part A:B Mixing
- 4 to 8 GHz Grade Range
- ECCOSORB MF-117 Cured Equivalence
Product Description
ECCOSORB CR-117 is a two-part castable epoxy microwave absorber supplied as CR-117 Part A resin and ECCOSORB CR Part B catalyst. The CR-series technical data identifies CR-117 for a recommended 4-8 GHz range and a 100:3.2 Part A:Part B mix ratio by weight. Processing guidance recommends warming Part A and preferably the mold to about 65 deg C before blending, with vacuum degassing used when needed before casting. Documented uses include waveguide terminations, attenuators and loads, and localized RF-leakage potting.
Key features
- Mix ratio: Two-part castable epoxy microwave absorber with a documented 100:3.2 Part A:Part B mix ratio by weight.
- Key characteristic: CR-117 is identified in the CR-series technical data for a recommended 4-8 GHz frequency range.
- Processing guidance: Warm Part A and preferably the mold to about 65 deg C before mixing.
Applications
- Waveguide terminations
- Attenuators and loads
- Localized RF-leakage potting

Castable RF absorption with CR-117 grade selection
ECCOSORB CR-117 is a two-part castable epoxy microwave absorber supplied as CR-117 Part A resin and ECCOSORB CR Part B catalyst. The CR-series technical data identifies CR-117 for a recommended 4-8 GHz range and a 100:3.2 Part A:Part B mix ratio by weight.
As-Supplied System
CR-117 component and grade configuration
Keep the two supplied components and the recommended mix basis distinct from cured-material performance.
| Item | Documented value | State / condition |
|---|---|---|
| Part A | ECCOSORB CR-117 Part A resin | As supplied |
| Part B | ECCOSORB CR Part B catalyst | As supplied |
| Recommended mix ratio | 100:3.2 by weight | Part A:Part B before casting |
| Recommended CR-117 frequency range | 4-8 GHz | Grade-selection guidance |
Processing
Mix, degas and cast under the documented CR-series process window
Processing guidance recommends warming Part A and preferably the mold to about 65 deg C, then blending the two components. Entrapped air may be removed under vacuum when needed before casting.
Process controls
- Part A:Part B ratio: 100:3.2 by weight.
- Processing temperature guidance: about 65 deg C for warmed Part A and preferably the mold.
- Approximate pot life: 30 minutes at 65 deg C.
- Heat cure is required by the documented CR-series guidance; use the governing technical data for the complete cure schedule.
Applications
Documented RF absorber uses
Waveguide terminations
Cast absorber for molded waveguide terminations and related RF load structures.
Attenuators and loads
Cast configurations for attenuator and load applications identified in the supplier documentation.
Localized RF-leakage potting
Precise placement of small absorber volumes in or around documented RF-leakage areas.
Discuss ECCOSORB CR-117 processing and RF absorber selection
Contact Krayden for support evaluating CR-117 for the intended frequency range, casting geometry, mixing process and RF absorber configuration. Final process settings and cured performance should be confirmed against the governing technical source and the actual application design.
