Product Description

LENIUM™ ES is a binary azeotrope of n-propyl bromide (nPB), isopropyl alcohol (IPA), and stabilizers designed for open-top and vacuum vapor degreasers. It is formulated for electronics defluxing, including removal of solder flux residues and ionic contamination from circuit assemblies, and also removes documented industrial soils such as adhesives, buffing compounds, drawing oils, greases, hydraulic oils, lapping compounds, resins, inks, silicone oils, and waxes. Current typical data include a 148–151°F (64–66°C) boiling range, 0.49 cP viscosity at 20°C, 110.9 mm Hg vapor pressure at 20°C, and a Kauri-Butanol value of 125.

Vapor-Degreasing Process

LENIUM ES is designed for open-top and vacuum vapor degreasers. The current technical data sheet directs users to add the product at full concentration to the tank reservoir or reservoirs and provides controller references for process setup. Use the current Vantage operating manual and equipment-specific instructions for the complete operating procedure.

Charge concentration: Add LENIUM ES at full concentration to the tank reservoir(s).
Controller references: Liquid Temperature Controller (LTC) 164°F (73°C); High Temperature Controller (HTC) 169°F (76°C); Safety Vapor Controller (SVC) 144°F (62°C); Vapor Up Temperature (VU) 144°F (62°C).
Primary refrigeration: 35–40°F (2–5°C).
Cleaning role: Supports electronics defluxing and precision cleaning, including removal of solder flux residues, ionic contamination, and the other documented soil types.

Storage and Handling

LENIUM ES has a 36-month shelf life when stored in the original, sealed container above 50°F (10°C). Current Vantage technical data lists 50 lb (23 kg) pails and 550 lb (249 kg) drums. Consult the current Safety Data Sheet and applicable workplace, transport, environmental, and equipment requirements for complete handling, exposure-control, storage, and disposal information.

Qualification and Approval References

Current Vantage product information lists the following approval references for LENIUM ES. Applicability remains controlled by the exact specification, process, revision, substrate or assembly, facility, and acceptance requirements.

Current listed approval references
  • Goodrich Landing LGPS 1400 Solvent Cleaning / Degreasing
  • Lockheed Martin EMAP G41.149
  • Safran In-1500 Products Used For Degreasing-Organic Solvents (n-Propyl Bromide)
Confirm the current revision and the exact controlled-process applicability before specification or release.
Defined legacy-solvent replacement scope
Vantage positions LENIUM ES as a drop-in replacement for trichloroethylene (TCE), HCFC-141b, HCFC-225, perchloroethylene (PCE), and methylene chloride (MeCl).
Replacement language is limited to the named solvents and does not remove the need to verify actual equipment, material compatibility, cleaning performance, residues, exposure controls, and process qualification.
Use contexts
