Product Description
3M Surface Pre-Treatment AC-130-2 is a two-part, water-based, non-chromated sol-gel surface treatment for preparing aluminum alloys, steel, and titanium before adhesive bonding. The mixed treatment can be applied by brush, spray, or immersion and dries at ambient conditions without a rinse or heat-cure step. A 30 minute induction period prepares the mixture for use, followed by a 10 hour pot life. Applying the compatible primer or adhesive within 24 hours of treatment helps maintain the intended bonding process window.
Key features
- Non Chromated Sol Gel: The water-based treatment prepares compatible metals without a chromate conversion step.
- Ambient Dry Processing: Brush, spray, or immersion application requires no rinse or heat cure.
- Flexible Metal Preparation: The treatment supports aluminum alloys, steel, and titanium bonding processes.
Applications
Surface preparation of aluminum alloys, steel, and titanium before compatible adhesive bonding.
